Climate Mayors Summit 2019

Mayor Kirk Caldwell and the City and County of Honolulu were honored to host the 2nd Annual Climate Mayors Summit on June 27, 2019. The Summit was a hosted as a collaboration between the City, Climate Mayors, and C40.

Over 50 mayors from across the United States, along with over 100 members of their staff and partner organizations, gathered to discuss the leadership of cities in the face of a changing climate. Building upon the relationships forged at the first Climate Mayors Summit hosted by Mayor Walsh of Boston, the 2019 Summit featured speakers from a variety of professional backgrounds addressing climate change through the lenses of finance, equity, collaboration, and risk assessment.

In addition to the scheduled panel discussions, an Electric Vehicle Purchasing Collaborative was announced at the 2019 Climate Mayors Summit. This collaborative will bring over 2,000 electric vehicles to 120 cities across the United States by 2020.
