Sea Level Rise

Climate change is real and recent extreme weather prove to have significant impact on our lives, private property, and public infrastructure. In fact, between now and 2050, the Hawai‘i State Climate Commission predicts that O‘ahu will experience 3.2 feet of sea level rise, severely impacting homes, businesses and public places like parks, schools, and community centers.

The Pacific Islands Ocean Observing System has created a Hawai‘i Sea Level Rise Viewer to easily view how sea level rise will impact 54 specific communities on O‘ahu.

Visit the Hawai‘i Climate Adaptation Portal website to view the full report and for more information on climate mitigation and adaptation.
