FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program has a new Risk Rating 2.0 tool that aims to make insurance pricing more equitable.

Check what providers are in your area and participate in FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program. It takes 30 days for flood policies to become active, so plan ahead to save what you love in a flood!

Already Insured? Consider Your Coverage Limits

NFIP policies have coverage limits which may not be sufficient to cover the value of your entire building or contents.

  1. Review your existing coverage and understand your coverage maximums for both building and contents (they are separate).

  2. Talk to your agent about your specific coverage needs.

  3. Make changes to your policy if needed so that you are sufficiently insured against damages from a future flood event.

  4. Some private insurance policies can be combined with an existing NFIP policy. Visit the State Insurance Division website to learn more.
